Bump-Set Accuracy Ladder

Steps

1. 01Stand at the net with a partner five metres away who tosses you a pass at chest height.
2. 02Bump set to a target one metre off the net, using the platform and the legs rather than the arms.
3. 03Hold the finish, platform still pointing where the ball went, so you can see what you actually did.
4. 04Score a rep only if the ball lands inside a two-metre box at the target.
5. 05Do 10 from the right, 10 from the left, and 10 from a ball that pulls you off the net.

Common mistakes

• Swinging the arms at the ball, which sends it flat and long in any wind.
• Setting square to the net when the pass pulls you off it, so the ball drifts across.
• Setting tight to the net, which on two-a-side hands the blocker the whole play.
