Alternating front and back sets from the same neutral posture so blockers can't read direction off the body.
12 minvolleyball, feeder
Steps
01Set up facing a front-set target with a partner positioned behind you as the back-set target.
02Receive every feed with identical hand shape and contact point over the forehead, hips square and shoulders level.
03For the front set, extend up and through toward the target; for the back set, keep the same contact point over the forehead, press your hips forward under the ball, arch the upper back, and extend up and back without leaning back early.
04Have the feeder call 'front' or 'back' just before contact so your setup stays neutral until release.
05Complete 10 front and 10 back sets, checking that your pre-contact posture looks the same on both.
Common mistakes
Leaning or arching before contact, which telegraphs the back set.
Letting the contact point drift behind the head on back sets and losing accuracy.
Uneven shoulders that push the front set off its intended line.
