Serve standing float serves over the net into called six-zone targets to link clean contact, a checked follow-through, and square alignment under aim pressure.
20 minvolleyball, net, cones
Steps
01From the endline, set your feet square to the target with hips and shoulders facing your intended zone.
02Use a low, consistent toss in front of the hitting shoulder and step through toward the target as you swing.
03Contact the center of the ball with a firm hand and stop the hand abruptly at contact, keeping the ball floating with no spin.
04Call a zone (1 through 6) out loud before each serve and serve to cones placed in that zone.
05Score 1 point for any serve in and 2 for hitting the called zone, playing to 15 to finish the set.
Common mistakes
Opening the hips toward the sideline, pulling serves off-target.
Following through long and low, adding topspin that kills the float movement.
Inconsistent toss location that forces last-instant swing corrections.
